How did my my Great Grandmother Gertrude Armacost meet my Great Grandfather George Clyde Allread? No memories were ever personally shared with me, but I do know that they started off as friends. For-get-me-not autograph friends.
In 1895 Clyde was given a beautiful German autograph book by his mother, Sarah. Towards the back of the book is a page signed by his future bride, Gertie. The page is date Dec. 5, 1896 and Gertie would have been almost 15 years old.
